For some it’s about the dream of having energy independence, for others it’s about sustainability and good investment. Like solar PV, LEDs and other renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies the cost curve for energy storage continues to shift as dynamic efficiency works its magic. The economy is craving access to clean low cost renewable energy with confidence and flexibility.

A key striking point is tariffs; as network operators deal with disruption, end users such as farmers are becoming more attracted to off-grid solutions. If cross subsidies were  removed they would most likely disconnect tomorrow, however we all know that’s not going to happen any time soon (removing cross subsidies that is).

Cities and densely populated areas will not disconnect completely, they will embrace storage in a different way using a mix of self and grid generated energy solutions.
