Founded in 1984, Energetics has grown from a domestic engineering consulting business providing energy audits, to a management consultancy offering energy, carbon and sustainability advisory services. Combining commercial insights, technical understanding and deep knowledge of government policies and regulations, Energetics understands the impact of high energy costs and the challenges of managing carbon emissions. By tailoring their advice to meet the unique needs and circumstances of our clients, they provide robust risk management strategies and reporting, and help identify new business opportunities in a decarbonising world.

About Energetics

For more than three decades Energetics has worked with some of Australia’s largest energy users and emitters of greenhouse gases, across a wide range of sectors, to build a reputation for excellence driven by the passion and expertise of our consultants. Energetics has worked on iconic projects such as the Commonwealth Bank’s climate risk assessment for the dairy, livestock and grains components of their agribusiness portfolio as seen in their 2019 annual report; Woolworths’ sustainability journey, analysis of the carbon offset market potential for the state of Queensland, and most recently, a report into the decarbonisation and adaptation potential for the resorts of the Great Barrier Reef.  We have also been lead commercial and technical advisors for the development of major corporate renewable power purchase agreements for the Melbourne Renewable Energy Project, Sydney Metro and Monash University.

Through a partnering approach to developing energy and climate management initiatives, Energetics both identifies issues and supports clients to navigate what can be challenging and entrenched organisational systems and practices. We understand the importance of thoroughly understanding the market together with goals of our clients’ businesses, to develop strategies and targets that attract organisation-wide support.

As a carbon neutral business, Energetics is proud to say that we practice what we preach.

Energetics' People

While Energetics’ has traditionally drawn consultants from the engineering profession, we increasingly recruit consulting staff who are economists, scientists, actuaries, lawyers, IT specialists and analysts. The combination of these skills, together with our partnering approach, enables us to offer clients a tailored energy and carbon management service.

Energetics employs around 80 professionals across Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.

Energetics' Solutions

Energetics' clients benefit from our ability to see how an economy grappling with a rapidly changing energy mix and, increasingly, the physical impacts of climate change, presents both risks and opportunities.  We help businesses prepare for changes in the market years ahead of our competitors.

Our services combine commercial insights with technical and project management excellence.  We provide strategic advice with target setting and scenario based planning; identify new business opportunities supported by thorough business cases which can also include financing options; and develop approaches to procuring energy, managing the risks of our changing climate and accurate disclosure that builds the confidence of investors.
